Just thought I'd add that your soundcard (ISA vs PCI) makes a big difference to software DVD applications. I have a generic Yamaha OPL3SAx (YMF-719) ISA 16-bit 48KHz soundcard, and a generic Aureal A3D Vortex 8820 PCI soundcard. Cyberlink PowerDVD's performance is *far* worse with the ISA soundcard.
